I am Exactly Where I need to Be

I wake up with a body sore from the dreams of last night.

I close my eyes and I am blessed by what tomorrow may become,

I leave a room kissed by a madman.

I am exactly where I need to be.

I walk with thorns piercing my ankles and I wonder if these tragedies of my doings are promises from my ruins.

I leave the basement built by strangers.

I am exactly where I need to be.

In my hands there are prayers I refuse to listen to.

In my heart a cathedral I never go to,

on my tongue an apple decayed weeks ago.

This was not the first time I buried words in my throat,

months have passed as a new tree branches in my lung and plays a song I leave to rot,

until years take what has been destroyed and makes a garden out of the forgotten and the damned.

I am exactly where I need to be.

How sweet was the garden of the beloved when I tasted what was asked of me to share.

How bitter was the forest of he light bringer when i washed my hands away from the earth to care.

There is no exile, there is no reunion.

I am exactly where I need to be.

Blessed are the ones who make space for what hurts.

Blessed are the ones who do not get drunk on their gods.

Blessed are the ones trying to change curses to fig trees.

For it takes a damned soulful heart to open up the doors of their wooden boxes,

to the wicked and wretched so that the misery and abandoned does not go cold tonight.

You may feel stagnant where you are, you may feel like a stranger and the mad,

but you are exactly where you need to be just with eyes waiting not for light to come in but for you to shine out.
